When were pants invented?

So I was thinking about how people dressed in different eras of history, and I noticed that almost all the ancient folks wore various types of robes, and togas, and kilts, and loincloths, and in general things that were not pants, and that got me wondering when pants were invented. So now I'm asking you internet folks.
